HAND MADE IN FRANCE

Fashion today is all about non-sense. After many years in fashion trying to fight against fashion silly rythms and disrespectful processes, Flore Mouren, the founder and designer, decided to write a new chapter of her life. She wanted to give real couture and soulful savoir-faire their righful place by founding her own "Maison", as a tribute to her grand-mother and great-grand-mother, who were trousseau embroiderers in the South of France, and who always inspired her.

We are so excited to launch our "Maison de Couture", we hope you will be part of our family house !

THE STORY BEHIND

-

"Craft different, Consume different"

We believe that fashion today should totally rethink its practices, processes and even more its primary purpose. That is why we thought about Maison Flore Paris as a true witness to the History, and not only as a simple ready-to-wear clothing line. More than garments or accessories, the items we craft are made of poetic memories to keep close and look after. We wish to share a legacy, a savoir-faire, clothing with an extra soul where each piece of fabric has its own unique story to tell. This kind of refined treasures you want to keep for the next generation, and pass on to your beloved one, exactly as antique trousseaux were passed on from mother to daugther.

TIMELESS | COLLECTIONLESS | SEASONLESS

UPCYCLED TREASURES

Fascinated by her maternal line made of trousseaux embroiderers, Flore dreamt for many years of reusing these abandoned treasures. Maison Flore Paris is based on upcycling and giving a new life to vintage and antique domestic textiles, giving birth to soulful clothing with a unique story behind each piece of fabric. Using these handmade quality materials refreshes the idea of trousseau, made of precious pieces destined to be collected, cherished and one day passed on to the next generation.

LOCAL COUTURE

Every item is about local and ethical savoir-faire. Each clothing is handmade with great care and attention to details. Most of the pieces are handmade-to-order by Flore herself in her workshop boutique in Paris. Her making process includes designing, fabrics sourcing, pattern-making, cutting out and crafting limited quantities and on demand pieces. For ponctual wider orders, she also partners with independant seamstresses and small manufacturing workshops, all based in France and who she asks to personnally sign an authenticity certificate.

REFINED SUSTAINABILITY

Inspired by her grand-mother work, Flore sources local refined vintage trims and textiles she chose to combine to high quality and exclusively 100% natural fabrics as silk or organic cotton. No polyester, polyamide or plastic based fabrics. Materials all come from french or neighbour countries existing stocks and excess fabrics, to reduce new production to the minimum. If she needs to produce new materials as customised ones, she only selects "Patrimoine vivant" labellised or human scale french companies.

MADE-TO-ORDER LIMITED LINES

Flore chose to create this refreshed trousseau out of the actual non-sense fashion rythms. She only works on timeless and slow conceived clothing, focusing on made-to-order and on-demand pieces. No more collection, no more season, only different lines with daily or couture vibes in very limited quantities up to one-of-a-kind items due to the completely unique vintage textile it is made from. Only a few pieces will be available in our parisian boutique and selected stores to let clients discover in real life our fabrics and process.

Founder & Designer

"Since the age of 13, founding my own fashion clothing is my obsession. My family has always inspired me. A maternal line made of embroiderers, a paternal line made of entrepreneurs. The  first embroidered trousseaux for the neighborhood families, while the others founded a successful chocolate company in Marseille until the mid 50's. These stories have always fascinated me. After fashion studies and 13 years developping my first clothing label that was already about Made in France, high quality fashion and sustainable processes, I am more excited than ever to carry on the family traditions in my own way. I hope you will be part of my new adventure and that you will love my creative world !"
