REFRESHED TROUSSEAU

Maison Flore is more than a clothing line. The items we craft are made of poetic memories to keep close and look after.
We create refined treasures you want to collect and pass on to your the next generation, exactly as antique trousseaux were passed on from mother to daugther.

FAMILY HERITAGE

Maison Flore is all about celebrating heritage and roots. It all started with Marie, Flore's great grand-mother. She was a trousseau embroiderer in Marseille at the end of the 19th century, a skill that she learnt from her mother. At this time and until around 1950's, trousseaux were built by young women before getting married. They were made of linen, but also lingerie, garments and accessories. All these pieces were hand embroidered, usually with its owner initials, crafting pure poetry and memories.

MONOGRAMS ARE FOREVER

Marie wanted to keep this family tradition alive, and passed her knowledge on to her daughter Berthe, Flore's grand-mother. Berthe was so talented that she became the official embroiderer of Vauban neighborhood in Marseille. Until today, some people are still remembering her for having embroider a mother or an aunt's trousseau ! Flore's mother kept all of her work : bed sheets, tissues, collars and even bags, all embroidered with her hands. And Flore is now the owner of this incredible heritage.
