THE MIMOSA BLOUSE

Bonjour ! I am the Mimosa blouse 🌷

I am 100% Made in France with upcycled, repurposed and organic materials.

Here is my story ...

THE INSPIRATION

The Mimosa Blouse is inspired by Flore's grand-mothers, Marie & Berthe, and the refined treasures they used to create. They were trousseau embroiderers and often manufactured and used laces and trims. These treasures Flore inherited in a small wooden box inspired her for her very first creation for Maison Flore.

BORN IN PARIS

The Mimosa Blouse is born in Paris, rue Charlot in Maison Flore workshop-boutique. Flore designs each item and her creative process includes materials sourcing, pattern-making on mannequin or paper and cutting out materials in house. For this blouse, Flore created a special pattern that can fit many sizes at the same time to avoid any waste of fabric.

UPCYCLED ANTIQUE BEDSHEET

The Mimosa blouse has a lovely pierrot collar made from a french antique linen bedsheet from the 1930's. It is coming from a deadstock seller based in Marseille, France, who collects vintage linen intented to be thrown away, despite the quality, sustainability and almost perfect condition.

GOTS CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON VEIL

The main fabric used for the Mimosa blouse is 100% Gots certified organic cotton veil. We chose a high quality fabric in an existing stock from our supplier based in Waldbröl, Germany, so we didn't have to produce any new fabric for Mimosa. The fibre comes from Turkey and then is spun and weaved in Waldbröl. This company only produces organic cotton, peace silk, and weaved trims handmade with german vintage machines.

FAIRE RENAITRE & REVIVRE

GOTS CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON THREAD

We use 100% Gots certified organic cotton sewing thread. The fibre comes from Egypt and then is spun and dyed in Soest, The Netherlands. This thread company was founded in 1970 and remains family owned ! They manufacture all of their threads in Europe and care about the safety of their employees and the environment.

LOCAL COUTURE

This Mimosa blouse has been 100% manufactured in Paris, rue Charlot, by Flore herself. Every step of sewing has been made in our workshop boutique. Yes, it's french couture baby !

UNE COUTURE LOCALE

Notre couture est 100% Made in France !

HANDMADE EMBROIDERY

The Mimosa blouse is part our Treasure line, meaning that it is made in very limited edition. It is numbered by hand-embroidery made by Flore.

MADE TO LAST

This Mimosa blouse is made with passion and meant to last. As were antique trousseau, it is destined to be cherished and one day passed on to the next generation. We hope you will carry its story beyond and make it your own !
